PATCHES R US ACADEMY
Custom Patches for Motorcycle Clubs, Car Clubs & Motorsport
Club Identity, Teamwear, Events, Chapters & Statement Patches
From embroidered club patches and motorsport team branding to event designs, chapter variations and larger jacket pieces, we can help build a patch system around your artwork, garments and future ordering needs.
JUMP TO WHAT YOU NEED
MORE THAN ONE BADGE
A Strong Club Identity Can Work Across a Whole Patch Range
One organisation may need a small cap or chest patch, another a jacket piece, and another a family of event, chapter and team designs.
The important part is making those pieces feel connected — through colour, typography, border treatment, construction and overall design language.
If several patches are intended to work together, we can consider them as one coordinated project rather than designing every piece in isolation.

ONE IDENTITY · MULTIPLE PATCHES
Build a Coordinated Patch Set
Different pieces can serve different purposes while still looking like they belong to the same organisation.
Main Jacket Patch
The strongest visual representation of the club or team identity.
Curved Wording
Arched names or wording designed around the central artwork.
Location / Chapter
Regional wording or controlled location-specific variations.
Chest / Cap Patch
A smaller identity piece for garments, caps and accessories.
Role Patch
Optional responsibility or member identification where required.
Event Patch
Rallies, meets, races, anniversaries and commemorative designs.
REAL PROJECTS · REAL PATCHES
Different Projects Need Different Decisions
Motorsport and club patches don't follow one formula. These are genuine examples of different approaches we've produced.
EMBROIDERED DETAIL
Translating Detailed Artwork Into Stitch
Fine linework, lettering and illustration all need to be considered together when artwork is converted into embroidery.
EVENT PATCH
Branding for a Specific Event
Event name, date and location can turn a patch into a commemorative piece rather than generic team branding.
TEAM IDENTITY
Long-Format Club Branding
Rectangular patches can work particularly well where the typography and logo naturally form a longer composition.
DESIGNING AT DIFFERENT SCALES
The Same Artwork Can Behave Very Differently as the Patch Gets Larger
A design that works beautifully at 70 mm may need to be treated differently when it becomes a larger jacket or statement patch.
As scale increases, embroidery coverage, stitch direction, border weight, lettering proportions and overall placement become more noticeable.
PATCH SIZE CHANGES THE DESIGN
Approximate millimetres shown only to demonstrate scale. The best finished size depends on the actual artwork and garment.
REAL PROJECT · BORDER SAMPLING
One Design. Two Different Finishes.
For this Formula One History project, we produced the same embroidered artwork using two different edge finishes.
One version used a traditional raised merrowed border, while the other used a flatter heat-cut edge. Both samples were then shown on the intended cap so the client could compare the finished appearance before production.

WHAT IS THE PATCH GOING ON?
Leather, Denim or Textile?
LEATHER
Plan for Sewing
Leather deserves careful application. A professional sewing or leatherwork service is generally the route we'd consider for a permanent patch.
DENIM
Classic Patch Surface
Denim jackets and vests work particularly well with embroidered and woven patches, especially when securely stitched.
TEXTILE
More Application Options
Textile jackets, workwear, caps and bags may allow sew-on or suitable heat application depending on the fabric.
BUILD AROUND THE ARTWORK
CURVES, ARCHES & CUSTOM SHAPES
The Patch Doesn't Have to Be a Circle or Rectangle
Curved wording and custom-shaped designs can be built around the central artwork and available garment space.
The important part is getting the relationship between each component right so the set feels deliberate rather than crowded.
CHOOSING THE CONSTRUCTION
Embroidered or Woven?
EMBROIDERED
Bold, Traditional & Textured
Particularly effective for confident artwork, larger lettering and traditional club styling where visible thread texture is part of the finished look.
WOVEN
Fine, Flat & Detailed
Useful where artwork contains small text, intricate linework or details that traditional embroidery cannot reproduce cleanly at the intended size.
Custom moulded PVC patches created for a motorsport-inspired design.
ANOTHER OPTION FOR CLUB & MOTORSPORT PATCHES
PVC Can Be Brilliant for Bold, Hard-Wearing Designs
Embroidery and weaving aren't the only options. PVC patches use moulded rubber rather than thread, creating a clean, dimensional finish with strong colour and clearly defined shapes.
That makes PVC particularly interesting for motorsport, motorcycle, automotive and enthusiast designs where a bold graphic look suits the identity.
Different areas can be moulded at different levels for a dimensional finish.
Strong blocks of colour and graphic artwork reproduce particularly well.
The rubber surface is practical where patches may encounter dirt or grime.
A strong alternative when traditional embroidery isn't the look you're after.
KEEP THE CORE IDENTITY
Chapters, Locations & Role Variations
A club may want one consistent central identity while allowing individual locations, roles or teams to use controlled variations.
By establishing the colours, typography, construction and layout first, related versions can be developed without losing consistency.
CONTROLLED VARIATIONS
MAKE EVENTS COLLECTIBLE
Rallies, Meets, Races & Anniversary Patches
Annual Event
A new design each year can become part of a growing collection.
Anniversary
Mark a club or organisation milestone with a one-off design.
Competition
Team, final or championship branding for a particular event.
Club Meet
Member merchandise, event packs and visitor keepsakes.
CLUB / TEAM GROWTH
THE FIRST ORDER ISN'T THE END
Make Future Orders Easier From the Start
New members join, jackets get replaced, teams change and new events are added over time.
Once the core patch specification has been approved, later production can follow the same agreed setup to help maintain consistency.
SEE THE REAL PATCH BEFORE THE MAIN RUN
Sampling Lets You Make Decisions Before Production
Border style, thread coverage, lettering and fine details can all change the personality of the finished patch.
Our usual process includes a real manufactured sample that can be reviewed through clear photographs or video before the wider production run.
Where more than one viable design route exists, sampling gives you something physical to compare rather than relying on imagination.
Check detail, size, construction and intended use.
Produce the actual patch rather than relying only on artwork.
Check borders, colour, lettering, proportions and finish.
Move into the wider run once the finished patch is right.
